JABSOM field trip

This worksheet shows what we did at the school and how it affected us. I actually was thinking of going to this school because I wanted to stay home. By going to this school we got to see how they learned and it was pretty interesting. Seeing the way they learned was really interesting because as first year medical students they work on cadavers, they also did PBL cases which was similar to the way we did KWAI's. Being able to have the experience of going to this school really made me feel like I could go to JABSOM and reach my goal of becoming a pediatrician.

Pay It Forward

This Pay It Forward project basically talks about how I found the career of my choice after taking health path core and clinical health. It shows what experiences affected me the most which lead me to choosing my career. Overtime throughout having all these experiences which include guest speakers, field trips, learning new skills, and more lead me to wanting to become a pediatrician. It also shows the way I my attitude has changed throughout the class by learning about what kind of person I want to be when I go into the medical field because I don't want to be the person who reads off their patients charts and shows no sign of emotion, I want to be the person who will actually care when you are there and treats you well medically and emotionally.

Philosophy Essay

This essay shows that I am willing to work hard in order to reach the goals I set for myself. I am the type who is goal oriented and when I set a goal I will push myself in order to succeed. My quote was by Mark Twain and the quote was " the secret of getting ahead is getting started". This quote basicallt means that you can't get anywhere with putting in work. I think that this quote really explains who I am because I will work to my goal even if there is bumps along the way to reaching it. I think everyone should have a philosophy somewhat like this to have an attitude where they will work hard to achieve their goals.

Blood drive

On May 1st we held a blood drive at Kailua High School, by doing this we are helping those in need of blood by recruiting donors. This shows that the people in clinical health care for helping others by paying it forward by hosting this blood drive. By informing people about the blood drive through my presentation we were able to recruit some people, some people who were scared of needles or just didn't want to were influenced to donate blood. Overall this blood drive went well and we were able to go over our goal and help many people.

Junior PIQ

This shows that I took a class and understand the importance of it which is reaching the career of my choice. Health Path Core and Clinical Health showed me that I truly want to go into the medical field with being able to have all these experiences throughout these two classes. This PIQ also shows that I took advantage of this class by making the most out of it and I know what I can do to prepare myself before I go to college and medical school. This paper shows that I learned a lot from taking these courses and by doing this paper I was able to share what I learned and how it affected me.
